Ancelotti Gives An Update On Iwobi’s Fitness

The Nigeria international has not played for the Toffees since walking off in the 0-0 draw against Arsenal last month, and that won’t change ahead of Everton’s home game against Newcastle.

Everton’s manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed in his press conference that the Blues are set to be without three players for the Premier League clash against the Magpies.

Iwobi has not played for a month now since picking up a hamstring injury in the clash against his former club in December.  He revealed last week on his Instagram page that he will be back soon, but Ancelotti confirmed the 23-year-old has not regained full fitness and will miss the clash against Newcastle.

‘Iwobi is doing well but we don’t want to take a risk, he will stay here to train, Ancelotti said in his pre-match conference.

The former AC Milan manager has also confirmed Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson will be unavailable for the clash against Steve Bruce’s side.

“Richarlison trained today, but he still had pain so he will not be available tomorrow. ‘Sigurdsson is out, and Michael Keane trained today, he was not so comfortable, and he will be in the squad, and we are going to decide tomorrow, Ancelotti added.

Everton sit a place ahead of tomorrow’s opponents, but the two sides are currently level on points.
