Transfers: Rangers Insist Ebere Eze Won’t Be Sold Cheap

With several Premier League suitors gearing up to snap up talismanic midfielder Ebere Eze from the grasp of Championship side QPR when the January transfer window opens, the club have revealed that the England youth international will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

QPR star Ebere Eze is believed to be on the radar of the likes of Tottenham and Southampton but QPR manager Mark Warburton has warned all would-be buyers to be ready to pay top dollar for the talented youngster.

Eze has been the most influential player for the Hoops this season, scoring 9 goals in 20 matches.

Two of those strikes came at the weekend in a 2-0 win over Preston North End – QPR’s first victory in over two months – to help Mark Warburton’s side end a seven-game winless run.

The Hoops broke the deadlock through their talisman Eze after 16 minutes before the same player doubled the hosts’ advantage from the penalty spot 20 minutes from time when he coolly slotted home a penalty after Marc Pugh had been brought down.

It is this form that has made the 21-year-old, who is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles, to be hot in demand by clubs in the top flight.

But QPR manager Warburton is confident that Eze will only be allowed to leave on QPR’s terms.

“Every player in the world has got a price,” Warburton was quoted by the WestLondon Sports.

“January will be interesting. If we go and try to buy a player for £1m they’ll want £2m. Likewise, if we sell one of our players it will be on QPR’s terms. Les, Lee and the board will do whatever they think is best for the good of QPR.

“He’s (Eze’s) a very talented boy who’s working and learning every single day. Long may that continue.”

Ebere Eze is also the toast of the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Amaju Pinnick, who has been pulling the stops to see the midfielder switch his allegiance from England to Nigeria.
