Super Falcons Star Blames NFF For Team’s Failure At International Competition

Super Falcons defender, Osinachi Ohale says the inability of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to organize a Grade ‘A’ international friendly games contributed to the team’s failure to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Ohale, who recently joined Spanish side CD Tacón, told Brila fm that the federation has not done enough to help the Super Falcons reach the standard that they desired.

She also faulted Nigeria’s fall in the latest FIFA rankings and the team’s inability to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games on NFF’s failure to keep the team in shape with top international friendly games.

Recall that the Super Falcons won’t be representing Africa at the Olympic Games after Cote d’Ivoire eliminated the team on the away goal rule during the qualifying series.

“We dropped because of the negative results we’ve been getting and when we climbed it was because we were doing certain things right.

“To compete with the biggest teams, we have to keep up with playing quality friendlies and be active internationally just like other countries have been doing. Since the World Cup, we haven’t played matches besides the Olympic qualifiers.”

The former Delta Queens and Rivers Angels star has made 26 appearances for the senior national team, lifting four Africa Women Cup of Nations titles.
