Samson Siasia Solicits For Financial Help To Offset Legal Fees

Ex international, Samson Siasia has appealed to Nigerians to support him financially to raise money for the fine levelled against him by the world governing body (FIFA) over alleged corrupt charges.

The former Super Eagles head coach made this known on Saturday in a live studio chat on Brila FM, where he solicited for help from well-meaning Nigerians to sort out the legal fees and fine.

On August 16, FIFA said in a statement that the adjudicatory chamber of its independent ethics committee found the 51-year-old Siasia guilty.

He was “guilty of having accepted that he will receive bribes to manipulation of matches in violation of FIFA Code of Ethics.” He was banned for life “from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international levels and was also fined CHF 50,000 (41,997.1 pounds).

Although Siasia has lodged an appeal against his life ban from the game by world football governing body, CAS asked him to pay legal fees and prosecution fees

Siasia played 51 times as a striker for the Nigerian national team and later coached various national youth sides before his first spell as senior coach in 2010.
