He has is one of the stars in the Dutch topflight this season, but Chidera Ejuke is yet to receive a call up to the Super Eagles, and that baffles Heerenven’s manager, Johnny Jansen.
Ejuke has been in superb form for De Superfriezen this season with seven goals in 15 appearances so far. But despite his impressive form, he is yet to receive an invitation to the Super Eagles, although he was called up to the U-23 team.
However, Jansen believes he is too good for the U-23 which was why the club refused to release him, but stated he is surprised that he hasn’t been called up to the national team.
”I was surprised he didn’t get call up to main team of Nigeria. You have to ask the coach why because he did enough to get a look in.
“However we rejected the chance for him to join 🇳🇬U23. He’ll no doubt become a senior international in the nearest future, he added.
Ejuke will hope for a call-up when the Super Eagles begin their World Cup qualifying campaign in March 2020.
