Former Liverpool Manager Praises Wilfred Ndidi

The departure of workaholic midfielder, N’golo Kante to Chelsea two seasons ago, may have been seen as setback for Leicester City considering the fact that the team just won the Premier League.

It was assumed that there won’t be a perfect replacement for the French star, who has become a mainstay in the Blues. However, the arrival of Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi from Genk was never seen as a quick solution not until after some games were played.

The Nigerian international has fixed the loophole left behind by Kante and has become an integral part of Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers’ top four, and Premier League quest this ongoing season.

Ndidi has been one of the key performers for the Foxes this season, contributing two goals in 14 Premier League appearances amid a consistent all-round showing.

He was spectacular in the team’s victory against Everton in Sunday’s Premier League, where he marshaled the heart of the midfield with so much grit and confidence.

This then informed Rodgers to describe him as a soldier during the team’s press conference ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Watford.

“He’s an incredible player. We have lots of artists and he’s the soldier,” Rodgers told a news conference of Ndidi ahead of Leicester City’s Premier League clash against Watford on Wednesday.

“He provides the platform for the attacking players. Every top team needs a player like that. He’s been phenomenal in the time I’ve been here.”
