Ebere Eze Sinks With QPR Despite Ayodele Amos’ Brilliant Brace

Luke Ayodele Amos scored a brace for Rangers but it was not enough as Barnsley thumped the Rs 5-3 at the Oakwell Stadium in a Championship match on Saturday.

England youth international Ayodele Amos grabbed a goal either side of the interval, but it ultimately amounted to nothing as a Chaplin hat trick, a Woodrow penalty, and a late Diaby strike earned Barnsley all the three points at stake.

Mark Warburton started Bright Osayi-Samuel upfront to partner Hugill in attack with Ebere Eze in the number 10 role behind them.

But it was Ayodele Amos – further behind in central midfield – who claimed the highest ratings, of the three players of Nigerian descent on the pitch, with his brilliant display.

The 22-year-old, on loan from Tottenham Hotspurs, had not scored in 13 appearances for the Rs before his brace at the Oakwell Ground.

His first goal arrived on 12 minutes to cancel a Chaplin opener five minutes earlier. He grabbed his second of the afternoon in the 52nd minute, two minutes after Barnsley’s number 11 had completed his hat trick.

Woodrow scored from the penalty spot to make the scoreline 4-2 before Diaby got on the act to take the game away from the visitors.

Chair netted a late third for Mark Warburton’s men, but it was nothing but consolation on a disappointing afternoon for the Rs.
