He is currently the top marksman in the Eredivisie this season with 11 goals in 15 games including a brace in Heracles 4-0 win over Ado Den Hagg last weekend.
But despite his impressive feat, Cyriel Dessers is yet to receive an international call-up. The 24-year-old was born in Belgium but he is also eligible to play for Nigeria through his father.
The former Utrecht striker has now revealed he would love to play for the Super Eagles, and he is sending a come and get me plea to Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr.
Although he admitted he has not been to the country before, he will still like to commit his international future to the Super Eagles.
“I have never been to Nigeria because of the political situation there. It was slightly better last year so I’ll be twice as happy if I can get an invite, even if it’s friendly against Madagascar or Mauritius,” Dessers told Footballlive.ng
Nevertheless, Dessers will have to wait for the next three months before he can receive a call up as the Super Eagles do not play until then.
