Dosu Advises Super Eagles Forward To Be Mindful Of His Transfer Decision

Ex international, Dosu Joseph has advised Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen not to make a hasty decision ahead of the January transfer window.

Osimhen, who has been linked to top European clubs such as Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool has been a revelation for Lille this season.

The 20-year-old scored his tenth league goal in Saturday’s 5-1 loss to Monaco. The goal means the former Golden Eaglets star joins Senegal’s Moussa Sow and Ivory Coast’s Gervinho as the only players to have scored 10 Ligue 1 goals in their first eighteen appearances for Lille.

With such performances, it is not a surprise Osimhen is attracting interest from top sides in Europe. But speaking in an exclusive interview with Soccernet.ng, Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, Dosu said Osimhen should take his time before deciding on any move.

He advised the former Sporting Charleroi to continue his development with Lille and move when the right time comes.

“It gladdens my heart when I see Nigerian players progress in their various clubs in Europe. Most especially, I feel so delighted that one player is making Nigeria proud in France. Victor Osimhen has indeed stepped his game up going by his goal-scoring feat with Lille,” Dosu told Soccernet.ng

“But one thing I must advise the youngster is that he should be patient with his decision. He shouldn’t make a hasty decision that could make or mar his football career.

“The fact that he’s making the headlines and clubs are interested in him doesn’t mean he should jump to their offer. Whatever transfer move he wants to make right now, I will advise he applies wisdom so that he won’t make a big mistake.”
