Disappointing Outing For Iheanacho As Leicester City’s Winning Streak Ends

Kelechi Iheanacho had a day to forget as Leicester City’s eight match winning streak came to an end after playing out a 1-1 draw against Norwich in the Premier League encounter between the two sides on Saturday.

After seeing Liverpool go 11 points clear, the pressure was on Leicester to secure the maximum points against the 19th placed team in the league.

But Daniel Farke’s side held their own against Brendan Rodgers team to secure an unlikely point. Finland striker Teemu Pukki put the Canaries ahead in 26th minutes following a brilliant ball from Buendia.

However, they could only hold on for seven minutes as the Foxes levelled the scores through a Tim Krul own goal. The Holland goalkeeper could only manage to direct Jamie Vardy’s header into his own net.

The goal brought Leicester City to life with Rodgers making an early substitution-bringing on Demarai Gray for Iheanacho, but that did not change the course of the match as both teams had to share the spoils.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed some sort of resurgence in recent weeks but was taken off in the 39th minute of the first half as Rodgers tried to sharpen things upfront.

Despite going off early, the former Manchester City man had an accurate pass percentage rate of 81%, had one shot on target, and earned an overall rating of 6.3 on Sofascore.

His Nigerian compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi played the entire 90 minutes but could not help his side secure the win as Brendan Rodgers side dropped their first points in eight matches.  Leicester return to action next week when they take on champions Man City at the Etihad Stadium.
