It has been a phenomenal year for Joe Aribo both at international and club level. The 23-year-old joined Rangers last June and has been one of Gers best players this campaign.
Despite joining season, the Nigerian international has become indispensable in Steven Gerrard’s team, making 13 appearances, and scoring a goal.
His performances this season have ignited rumours that he could be leaving the Ibrox stadium next campaign with a lot of Premier League clubs interested.
But Aribo insists he is not focused about his future right now as he is only thinking about Rangers. Speaking in an interview with Super Eagles Youtube channel, the former Charlton man said he is not looking far ahead when asked about his Rangers future.
” I don’t really look too far, but I just want to keep my head down, playing for Rangers, doing the best I can, and get enough success as much as possible.”
The 23-year-old also made his international debut for Nigeria this year despite being born in England. He revealed he decided to commit to Nigeria because there’s no greater feeling than playing for your home country.
Speaking on his Super Eagles idols while growing up, Aribo revealed Austin Jay-Jay Okocha and Peter Odemwingie were the players that inspired him.
“I will say Jay-Jay Okocha and even Odemwingie, I used to really enjoy them when I was growing up, Aribo added.
Aribo will be hoping to win his first trophy with Rangers when they take on rivals Celtic in the Scottish League Cup.
