It has been a remarkable year for Nigerian music with the way it found global appeal. A lot of people including football stars have all caught the bug, and can’t do without having Nigerian music aka afrobeat on their playlist.

Afrobeats has become so popular that the songs are played in premier league clubs dressing rooms, while a lot of the players also have some of the music on their phone.

Liverpool star, Gini Wijnaldum is the latest premier league to show he is a lover of Nigerian music after he shared a link of his music playlist. The Holland international took to Twitter to share his playlist with fans, while also asking them to suggest new music for him.

On the playlist, Nigerian stars, Wizkid and Burnaboy featured heavily. Wijnaldum is a big fan of Wizkid’s Ghetto Love, while a couple of songs from Burna Boy’s African Giant album featured on Gini’s playlist.  This comes after Brazilian superstar, Neymar Jnr was seen listening to Burnaboy’s Ye while training in the Gym.
