Ahead of the January transfer window, two Premier League clubs, Chelsea and Tottenham are ready to break the bank to sign Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema.
While Benzema has enjoyed a strong start to the season with nine goals coming from 14 outings in all competitions, the 31-year-old has just over 18 months remaining on his contract.
There is currently every indication that the Frenchman would like to prolong his productive career at the Bernabeu but according to reports in Spain, the striker could receive offers from the Premier League.
Chelsea and Spurs are said to be monitoring the situation as they contemplating making alterations to their squad in the upcoming transfer windows.
The Blues are expected to part ways with Olivier Giroud, which could free up space in Frank Lampard’s squad in January.
Meanwhile, Spurs are short of proven competition for Harry Kane, who may potentially consider his long-term future at the north London outfit if they do not qualify for next season’s Champions League.
