NFF Wield The Heavy Hammer On Golden Eaglets Coach, Manu Garba

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have dismissed Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba after the team’s failure to progress to the quarter-final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

On Wednesday, the team lost 3-1 to the Netherlands side that managed to qualify as the third-best team from their group.

The defeat may have come as a slap to the face of the football body because Nigeria qualified as group B leaders, winning two and losing one against Australia.

Garba, who has handled the Golden Eaglets job twice, in 2013 and 2015, before his sack, was criticized for failing to maintain the players that defeated Hungary and Ecuador respectively in the opening two matches.

  • When bribery and favoritism takes centre stage that’s what you get . Using one section of the Country to represent a Country when we all know they came through the back door . Useless lot .

  • Manu Garba should never coach any national team again. Not only does he lack technical dept, there are too many accusations of corruption directed at him. They say that where there is smoke, there is fire.

    • I thought am the only one who saw this coming. Check out the players against the Holland. .. where are the Igbos? If you're gifted you're and we must stop this nonsense of sidelining people just because of where they come from. Good for Garba he can now go and coach his family team.

  • in 2013 nation's cup, kehi's team was called igbo team later they won, they were celebrated as Nigeria.if they had not won, woe be tide kehi and his igbo team. check out every team from nigeria that has won any competition and see the number of that blessed people in that team. u can't side line them and be successful. no two ways about it

  • I knew from the first game that that team was rubbish and not capable of winning the cup, you can't give what you don't have ,. The players are not good and therefore are not expected to perform wonders.
The score lines were more enfactive of the situation, it is better to win 1-0 than to win 4-2 or 6-4, in the last two you are only waiting for dooms day

  • Manu Garba was a complete failure, as far as this world cup went. No idea how to counter opponent's strategy, NO DEFENCE, no game plan, all the players were busy sprinting up and down while the opponents were waltzing past our defence with ease. Disgrace for being first to succumb to Australia after over 34 years, disgrace for being blown out by one of the lucky losers, Holland.

  • You all are just criticising MANU GARBA, do u knw d pressure he was under b4 d competition kicked off,he had about 4 of his best players omitted from his team to be replaced with prominents( one of dem is DSS son dat made d team) a 15 year old.even when he dint want d boy cos he was not good enough for the team, buh he had to accept cos he had no choice.2 of his best players werr replaced.
