The ongoing contract brouhaha between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr may soon be a thing of the past after an inside source in the NFF disclosed that they are working out modalities to ensure the German tactician maintain his job with the senior national team.
In the last few weeks, there have been talks that Rohr may drop the Super Eagles job due to the non-payment of his salaries and the tensed atmosphere he was left to work with.
Rohr also claimed that the football body owe him $100,000 in bonuses and allowances and may be forced to sort out his future with them in January 2020.
However, a source in the NFF refuted Rohr’s claims that the federation are making life difficult for him as regards the payment of his wages and bonus.
In a chat with Soccernet.ng on Wednesday, the source reiterated that the football body has concluded plans to resolve the lingering contract issue with the Super Eagles manager.
“I don’t think the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are happy with the continuous delay of Gernot Rohr’s contract. Both parties have a cordial relationship that has seen them enjoy three fruitful years of relationship,” the source told Soccernet.ng
“Talking about his claim that the federation owes him $100,000 in bonuses and allowances, I don’t think I can say anything about it. One thing that is paramount for us at this point is that we want to resolve Rohr’s contract as soon as possible to have a stable house.
“Rohr has done an incredible job with the Super Eagles and repaying him with another contract is what we are working on and not the reverse as been reported in some media.”
