Lille Coach Declares Valencia Tie A Champions League Final For Fit Again Victor Osimhen

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen started from the bench at the weekend in Lille’s 2-1 defeat at Marseille but his manager has dropped strong hints that the livewire striker would be ready to play his part from kick off in a make or mar match against Valencia on Tuesday.

Lille boss Christophe Galtier has named Victor Osimhen in the squad that traveled to Spain to face Valencia in the UEFA Champions League match day four, with the gaffer charging his men to leave it all out on the pitch so as to have no regrets afterwards.

Lille currently boast of a solitary point in the group – that also has Chelsea and Ajax – earned against the same opponent on match day three but Les Dogues is aware anything short of a victory would see the Ligue 1 side knocked out of the Champions League and even out of Europe outright.

“Victor Osimhen is fit, ready. Renato Sanches as well. Only Weah is not,” Galtier informed the press at his pre-match media conference.

“Training at Luchin today has allowed us to work precisely on our game plan. It has to pass on to the match.

“The magic of this competition means that we have to ask more of ourselves, we have raised our level of play, concentration and determination in game 3. We will have to be at least that level tomorrow.

“We have progressed match after match, I hope there will be a further progression compared to day 3. We need maximum intensity over a maximum of time without brakes, we need to be excellent.

“I want my players to play with heart so that they do not have regrets after 90 minutes. Valencia will evolve in front of a magnificent audience.

The coach of Valencia says it’s a finale. If it is for them, it is for us too. There is this goal of qualifying for the Champions League. There is also the one to qualify in Europa League via the 3rd place.”
