His international career was burgeoning while he was also the undisputed No 1 at the Molineux stadium, but he had to end his career early after he was diagnosed with acute leukaemia.
However, despite his early retirement, Carl Ikeme has not allowed that to weigh him down, and he is now set to launch a new book titled “Why not me?”.
The 33-year-old made this announcement on his Twitter page on Monday but did not disclose the official release date. Although details about the book are still sketchy, it is expected to be his life journey, and how he overcame the deadly illness.
Ikeme made 10 appearances for Nigeria between 2015-2016. He was in goal in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Zambia during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
