Super Eagles golden boy Samuel Chukwueze continued his goalscoring form as he was on target in Villarreal’s loss to Celta Vigo on Sunday evening.
It was Chukwueze’s second goal in the last seven days after scoring in Super Eagles 4-2 win over Lesotho last Sunday.
The Yellow Submarines went into the game hoping to pick up the three points against a Celta Vigo side that have picked just two wins prior tonight in the Spanish topflight this campaign.
However, the Os Celestes flipped the script as they took the lead against the run of play through Pione Sisto in the 54th minute. Chukwueze levelled the scores for Villarreal four minutes later, firing from home from close range after a great run from Xavier Quintilla.- It was the Super Eagles star third goal of the season for Villarreal.
But Celta Vigo would not be denied, and they took the lead again through Iago Aspas. The former Liverpool striker ensured his side will return to the Estadio Municipal de Balaídos with the maximum points as he scored his second of the game in added minutes.
The win puts Celta Vigo in 18th position with 12 points while Villarreal dropped to the 12th position with 18 points from 14 games.
