Breaking: Super Eagles Soar Past African Champions Algeria In Latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria has been rewarded for a perfect pair of performances in November with the three-time African champions moving four places up to 31st position in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

Following consecutive wins over Benin Republic and Lesotho in their 2021 AFCON qualifiers in the month under review, Nigeria has seen their fortunes improve on the national team global ranking.

Gernot Rohr’s men came from behind to snatch a narrow 2-1 win over the Squirrels in Uyo before securing a convincing 4-2 win in Maseru over the Crocodiles on November 13 and 17 respectively.

The back-to-back victories helped Nigeria gathered 1493 points this month to climb four spots into the world’s Number 31st while maintaining their ranking as the third-best footballing nation in Africa behind Senegal and Tunisia who occupy first and second place respectively.

The Desert Warriors of Algeria, 2019 Afcon champions, are placed fourth while Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali and DR Congo complete the top 10 teams on the continent.

The next Fifa rankings will be released on December 19.
