The Premier League side went down memory lane to appreciate a prolific, one-time club stalwart on his special day and the Toffees supporters joined in the praise of Super Eagles legend, Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
Former Nigeria international and ex-Portsmouth striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni turned 37 years old on Friday, with streams of congratulatory messages flowing in the direction of the Premier League legend and proven goal getter.
The Yak appeared in over 250 Premier League matches for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, and Blackburn Rovers, scoring 96 goals in total before hanging his boots as the second highest African goalscorer in Premier League history.
25 of those league goals where, however, banged in on behalf of the Goodison Park owners, where Yakubu transferred to in August 2007 for a then-club record fee of £11.25 million.

The Toffees players – including South Africa’s Steven Pienaar – and fans are still grateful of those strikes till date amid claims they would readily take back the striker should he dust his scoring boots again.
Feed the Yak. Happy birthday bro

Great video. Love the Yak. Shame you left off the goal against Chelsea in the semi final 1st leg. Almost burst the net. Great to be in the away end for that one. Happy birthday Yakubu!

That injury ended his time at Everton. It was a short couple of years at his best, he was up there with Lukaku, lethal in front of goal. How we could do with that now!!

Loved the Yak. A beast on his day and technically excellent in front of goal. Should’ve scored more

We need the Yak in today’s team. Someone who can finish from 6-10 yards
