Who Needs Abraham, Tomori When We Have Osimhen, Dennis, Says Former Super Eagles Assistant Coach

Former Super Eagles assistant Coach Fatai Amoo has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the technical crew of the Super Eagles not to dwell on the choice of Chelsea duo, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori for choosing England over Nigeria.

Recall that Abraham and Dennis were called up to the Three Lions of England squad last week Thursday for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech and Bulgaria.

Amoo stated that the country have better players who could represent the Super Eagles at any given competition.

He also commended the rise of Lille forward, Victor Osimhen and Club Brugge’s Emmanuel Dennis who are painting Europe red with their goals.

“We are now putting the horse before the cart and that is why we are always looking for players born abroad with Nigeria root. We put ourselves into this situation because I believe we have qualities that are better than Abraham and Fikayo in the country,” he said.

“Seeing how Osimhen and Dennis are playing in the UEFA Champions League has shown that Nigeria is blessed with talents and they have not seen anything yet from Osimhen and Dennis.

“So we should not lose sleep over the decision of Abraham and Fikayo to play for England. We all know those that made this kind of decision in the past and they were latter dump by England. So, Nigeria should forget about them and focus on the players we have. No need forcing anyone to play for Nigeria,” Amoo concluded.
