Former Super Eagles captain Kanu Nwankwo is the latest name to react to the death of Ex Nigerian youth international Isaac Promise who passed away on Wednesday.
The death of the 31-year-old was announced by his club Austin Bold FC on Twitter although they did not disclose the cause.
A statement on the club website read: Austin Bold FC is heartbroken by the death of Promise Isaac who passed Wednesday night at the age of 31.
Upon hearing the news, fans, players have all sent in their tributes with Kanu the latest big name to send in his condolences.
Reacting to the news, the former Arsenal star took to his Twitter account to express his sadness, saying RIP with a broken heart emoji.
The NFF and FIFA also expressed their sadness upon hearing the news of the death of the 31-year-old.
Promise was the captain of the Flying Eagles side that finished 2nd at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championships, while he also captained the U-23 team that won a silver medal at the 2008 Bejing Olympics
