Super Eagles Victor Osimhen and Samuel Kalu have sent a warning to Brazil as they were on target for their respective clubs in the Ligue 1 on Wednesday night, but Joe Aribo is now a doubt for the huge game after he was taken off in Rangers League Cup win over Livingston.
Nigeria take on the Samba boys of Brazil on October 13 in a glamorous international friendly match in Singapore. Tite’s side are favourites going into the match, but Osimhen and Kalu have shown a glimpse of what Brazil will face.
The two Super Eagles stars both scored for their respective clubs in the French topflight on Wednesday night. Osimhen who’s having a brilliant debut season in Ligue 1 with Lille scored his sixth league goal of the season in Les Douges 2-0 win over Strasbourg.
The former Royal Charleroi striker put Lille ahead in the 43rd minute before setting up Loic Remy in the second half as Christopher Galtier’s side moved up to third on the Ligue 1 table.
Osimhen’s goal means he is the first Lille player in 50 years to score six goals in his first seven league appearances.
Osimhen was not the only Nigerian in the Ligue 1 that was on target last night with Samuel Kalu also scoring in Bordeaux 3-1 win over Amiens. It was the former Gent’s star first goal of the season despite starting in all of Bordeaux’ seven Ligue 1 matches this campaign.
Meanwhile, Joe Aribo is a doubt for Super Eagles clash against Brazil after he was taken off with a head injury in Rangers win over Livingston on Wednesday night.
Aribo’s potential absence will be a big blow for Gernot Rohr and his team after his impressive debut in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with Ukraine last month.
