The Best Awards: Mo Salah and Egyptian FA Involved In A Row

Liverpool star Mo Salah is unhappy with Egypt’s football association after the manager and captain of the national team failed to vote for him as FIFA Best Men’s player of the year.

In the breakdown of votes that was released by the world football governing body, Egypt manager and captain votes did not appear on the list, but the Egyptian FA insist they voted, and have asked FIFA for an explanation.

Although the former Roma star appeared to diffuse the situation by saying on twitter he will never stop playing for the country, he has removed Egypt from his bio.

Egypt’s media representative Hany Danial’s also failed to vote for Salah in first place with Danial going for Sadio Mane, Ronaldo and then Salah as his third choice.

Lionel Messi won the award beating off competition from Virgil Van Dijk who came second and Cristiano Ronaldo who came third, with Salah and Mane rounding up the top five.
