See what Everton boss said about Alex Iwobi ahead of tough Bournemouth game

Everton manager has demanded that the Nigeria international give more to the team despite the former Arsenal star scoring two goals in his last two starts for the Toffees.

Alex Iwobi scored in wins over Lincoln City (in the EFL Cup) and Wolves (Premier League) before jetting out to Ukraine where his fine assist for the first goal help the Super Eagles to a decent 2-2 draw against Andriy Shevchenko’s men.

But Everton are constant strugglers away from Merseyside with Marco Silva’s men seeing under 2.5 goals scored in 5 of their last 6 away games in the Premier League. That poor form also have Everton failed to win their last 5 away league matches.

Marco Silva is however looking to summer signing Alex Iwobi to help stop that rot with his abilities.

“We are happy with him. He’s working really well and he has the quality,” Silva said ahead of Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth, reports Soccernet.ng

“There’s many things he can do to keep improving though because he can really help our team. I told him I will demand more from him because he is a player with so many games in the Premier League.

“Playing as a winger or behind the striker – which is the two positions that he can play – he has to score more goals. It’s something I’ve demanded since last season from our wingers.

“The other things to keep improving is his defensive processes. He has everything to improve and he has the quality.”
