Jose Mourinho responds to reports linking him with Zidane’s job at Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane’s job is reportedly under threat after Real Madrid fell to a 3-0 defeat in Paris on Wednesday but Jose Mourinho has distanced himself from such rumours.

Former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has responded to rumours linking him with a return to Madrid by suggesting that he can’t train a team that already has a coach.

Real Madrid have endured an inconsistent start to the season with Los Blancos winning just two of their first four league games and conceding in every single one of them.

In fact, Les Merengues have shipped more than a goal in three of their four La Liga matches so far, a situation that has casted doubts on Zinedine Zidane’s position as coach.

Mourinho has been without a job since he was sacked by Manchester United in December last year but the former Chelsea coach has made clear that he is ready to return to football.

However, the two-time UEFA Champions League winner has refused to pile further pressure on Zidane.

“You can’t train a team that already has a coach,” Mourinho explained to Deportes Cuatro when asked about taking over from Zidane in a chat monitored by Soccernet.ng.

“I would not like to train Real Madrid because they already have a coach.

“That’s it.”
