Real Madrid star calls PSG loss a ‘bad day for everyone’

Real Madrid suffered a shipwreck of a loss to PSG – who were without their major stars – to begin the new Champions League campaign on an ugly note, a situation James Rodriguez recalls as a ‘bad day for everyone’.

Colombia international James Rodriguez was handed yet another start by Zidane at the Parc des Princes but it had no effect on the night as Real Madrid were roundly beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

“It was a bad game, better that it happens now and not later,” James said after the game, as monitored by Soccernet.ng

“It’s not a day to make excuses but you also have to learn from the bad days, it happens.

“You learn things every day. We don’t have to be dramatic. It’s been a bad day for everyone and we have to learn from the bad.

“We have a good team, there are some players missing but we always believe in our work and the boss too, we have to think about the next match.

“We have another game in four days, we are Real Madrid and we have to think about what there is to come.”

James was expected to leave Real permanently in the summer but he’s enjoying a new lease of life under Zidane this season. The Colombian playmaker is now convinced that he can have a successful time at Real Madrid this season as long as Zinedine Zidane keeps faith in him.

“I think that a lot of people knew that I wanted to stay here,” James said.

“I think I can have a good season and achieve important things.

“With the support of the boss that I have at the moment, it will happen.

“I have an ideal relationship with Zidane.”
