Following his goal against Inter Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday evening, Peter Olayinka has etched his name into the champions league folklore.
The 23-year-old became the first Nigerian to score on his champions league debut since Yakubu Aiyegbeni scored a hattrick for Maccabi Haifa in 2002.
Olayinka now joins the likes of Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, and Lucky Idahor in the exclusive list of Nigerians to have scored on their champions league debut.
The 23-year-old goal came after finishing off a Jaroslav Zeleny shot that was initially saved by Handanovic. However, he will be denied glory as Inter Milan secured a point through Nicolo Barella.
Nevertheless, it was a brilliant performance from Slavia Prague who now sit on top of Group F. Olayinka will hope to back up his impressive start in two weeks time when German side, Borussia Dortmund visits Prague on Matchday 2.
