It is the first time that the German born custodian Maduka Okoye is invited to the Super Eagles and look set to make his debut versus Andriy Shevchenko’s men. Okoye is joined by Glasgow Rangers Joe Aribo, Club Brugge’s Dennis Bonaventure and Bordeaux’s Josh Maja as the first time invitees for the Super Eagles.
Regulars in Gernot Rohr’s team who will provide the needed experience in the tie include Everton’s Alex Iwobi, Udinese’s William Troost-Ekong, Brighton’s Leon Balogun and Stoke’s Oghenekaro Etebo.
Rohr is already without the services of Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Ndidi, Henry Onyekuru and Kenneth Omeruo after they all asked to be excused from the match due to varying reasons.
