Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa has been ruled out of the September 10 International Friendly game against Ukraine at the Dnipro Stadium due to injury.
Spokesperson to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire confirmed his injury in a statement issued on Friday.
He said: “Saudi Arabia –based Captain Ahmed Musa pulled out of the trip on Thursday night as a result of injury that has failed to heal as quickly as he expected,” the statement from the NFF read in part.
The former Leicester City winger was part of the Super Eagles team that won bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt after the team defeated Tunisia 1-0 in the Third-Place match.
He now joined players such as Kenneth Omeruo, Tyronne Ebuehi, Wilfred Ndidi and Henry Onyekuru that will miss the Ukraine encounter due to injuries.
With this development, Italy –based defender William Ekong and England–based midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo are expected to lead the delegation of Super Eagles’ playing body into Dnipro, Ukraine on Saturday.
