International Friendly: See What Kanu Said About Super Eagles Clash Against Brazil

Former Super Eagles forward, Nwankwo Kanu has applauded the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) gesture to have sealed a grade ‘A’ international friendly game between Nigeria and Brazil, slated for October 13.

Papilo, as he was fondly known by football lovers in Nigeria, was part of the Dream Team 1 that defeated Brazil 4-3 at the Atlanta Olympic football event in 96′, where he scored a brace.

The former Ajax and Arsenal star told AOIFootball.com in an interview that the NFF has done pretty well to have organized such a mouth-watering international friendly game against one of the world’s best footballing nation.

He also commended the Super Eagles performance in their last friendly match against Ukraine which ended 2-2 at the Dnipro Arena.

“The last friendly was fantastic. The team looked new to me and I must commend their performance. And that of Brazil slated for October is also a good top friendly and it is good to try other players,” the former Eagles captain posited.

Kanu remains one of Nigeria’s most decorated players, having won a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup Winners Medals and two African Player of the Year awards amongst others. He is one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup, and an Olympic Gold Medal. He made the third-most substitute appearances in Premier League history, appearing from the bench 118 times, and is regarded as one of the best players in African football history.
