International Friendly: Iwobi, Chukwueze Plus 16 Others Already In Ukraine, But No Iheanacho Yet

18 Super Eagles stars are already in Dnipro ahead of Nigeria’s international friendly against Ukraine on September 10, 2019, at the Dnipro Arena, Ukraine.

Among the players already in camp are, Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi, Villarreal’s youngster, Samuel Chukwueze, Udinese defender, William Troost Ekong.

The likes of Leon Balogun, Francis Uzoho, Jamilu Collins and Moses Simon, who are also part of the squad that finished third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations are also in camp.

Newly invited players like Joe Aribo, Josh Maja, Anderson Esiti have also landed in Dnipro. However, Leicester City’s forward, Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to report to camp.

The 22-year-old who is making a return to the squad after he was not included in the Nations Cup team is still yet to join his teammates, but it is expected to link up with the squad later today.

It’s been a tough start to the season for Iheanacho as he has yet to feature for Leicester this season. The former Manchester City star has been omitted from the Foxes, last two matchday squad.

Nevertheless, he will be hoping to get some minutes in the friendly against the Yellow and Blue as he attempts to get his international career back on track.

Meanwhile, Iheanacho’s teammate at Leicester, Wilfried Ndidi has pulled out of the squad alongside captain, Ahmed Musa due to injuries. Tyron Ebuehi is also out due to an injury.

It will be the first matchup between the Super Eagles and Ukraine who are managed by former AC Milan striker, Andriy Shevchenko.
