The Nigeria international finally rediscovered her scoring touch to help Barcelona Women maul title rivals Atletico Madrid 6-1 in a La Liga Women match played on Saturday afternoon.
Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala scored a goal in each half as the home side laid a marker for the new season and a warning to the rest of the Division of their readiness to challenge for the title yet again.

Goals from Hermoso, Caldentey, Ouahabi (brace) and Oshoala (brace) gave the hosts a convincing victory and condemned the defending champions to their worst league defeat in a decade.
Strangely, Atletico Madrid were the first off the blocks as Sampedro found the back of the net after just two minutes of play.
The away side’s lead only lasted five minutes however, as Hermoso converted from the penalty spot before Caldentey gave Barca the lead for the first time in the game.
Ouahabi got the first of her brace from a spot kick shortly after the half hour mark to make it 3-1 before Asisat Oshoala penned her name among the goalscorers with a tidy finish on the stroke of half time. It was her first goal of the new season after she had fired blank against Tacon and Rayo Vallecano.

Nigeria’s golden girl then took it up from where she left off by completing her brace a minute after the restart.

Atletico were reduced to 10 women after an hour of football following the dismissal of Tounkara.
Ouahabi then completed her brace as the clock chimed 75 minutes to complete the humiliation of the champions.

The win sees Barcelona Women move to the top of the Women Primera Division after gathering 7 points from the three games played so far.
