Arsenal Target Watford Downfall At Vicarage Road

Arenal will be aiming for the maximum points as the Gunners visit Watford at the Vicarage Road in Sunday’s Premier League game.

The two teams enter the game after vastly differing starts to the season; the Gunners have taken seven points from their opening four matches while Watford, who replaced manager Javi Gracia last weekend, are currently winless in the league.

Quique Sanchez Flores has now returned to Vicarage Road to guide the Hornets, who host an Arsenal side who look as good going forward as they do weak in defence.

Unai Emery has yet to find balance in his team – the north London derby draw against Tottenham a case in point – and they will have to avoid the dreaded ‘new manager bounce’ to take three points on the road this weekend.

Head To Head

Sunday’s game will be the 31st competitive meeting between the two sides, with Arsenal currently leading the way on 17 wins compared to Watford’s 12.

Although the Hornets’ overall record is quite good, their recent form against the Gunners has been poor – they were the only side not to score at least once against the Gunners last season.

Overall, Arsenal have won the last three meetings and five out of the last six in the league since Watford’s return to the top flight.

Possible Line Ups

Watford XI: Foster; Dawson, Kabasele, Cathcart; Janmaat, Doucoure, Cleverley, Femenia; Hughes, Pereyra; Gray

Arsenal XI: Leno; Maitland-Niles; Sokratis, Luiz, Kolasinac; Willock, Ceballos, Guendouzi; Pepe, Aubameyang; Lacazette

Betting Tip

Although the return of Flores could spark life into Watford’s season, Arsenal have more than enough pace and quality in the attacking areas to secure them a third win in five league games.
