Barcelona’s latest young star Ansu Fati wrote his name into the history books in some style on Saturday night at the Camp Nou.
The 16-year-old opened the scoring inside two minutes and then assisted Frenkie de Jong for Barcelona’s second of the night five minutes later.
In doing so he became the youngest player to score and assist in La Liga history, Barcelona confirmed after the match.
That’s not all. Ansu is also the youngest Barca player to start a game at the Camp Nou (beating Marc Muniesa), and he is also the youngest player ever to score at the stadium.
Ansu is just 16 years and 318 days old but is clearly an extremely exciting talent who Barca will be hoping can go on and break plenty more records in his career.
Meanwhile, Ernesto Valverde says Barcelona have a responsibility to control the hype around Ansu Fati after the teenager stood out again in his side’s 5-2 demolition of Valencia on Saturday.

I think Ansu will do far more better if he is assisted by the people around him.
