2019 Copa America champions Brazil to face the Super Eagles in October

South America champions Brazil have confirmed that the Selecao are set to meet the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an international friendly match slated for the Singapore National Stadium next month.

Five-time World Cup winners Brazil are billed to square up against Nigeria and Senegal between October 10 and 13, the country’s football federation announced  on their official website on Tuesday (Sept 17).

Singapore’s National Stadium will play host to the two international friendly games, as Neymar and co first confront Senegal on October 10 before trading tackles with the Super Eagles three days later.

Confirming this on the Brazilian Football Confederation website, National team coordinator Juninho Paulista said,

“We chose two of the best African teams because they are high-level confrontations and the Brazilian national team has had few encounters (with them) in recent years.

“It was a wish of the technical commission, so we went after these opponents.”

Brazil are no strangers to the Singapore National Stadium where a brilliant Neymar scored all four goals in a 4-0 win over Japan in 2014 in front of a sellout 51,577-strong crowd.

Nigeria are presently ranked 33rd in the world of football while Brazil are the second best nation on earth, according to FIFA.
