Super Eagles Midfielder Reveals Difficulties Managing Football And Education Together

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has revealed that combining football and education has not been an easy task for him. The former Nathan Boys star made this known on Friday during an interview with Sky Sports News.

Ndidi salvaged a point for Leicester City in their 1-1 draw against Chelsea in last Saturday’s Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.

Currently studying Business Management at De Monfort University in Leicester City, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalist, stated that he would love to help the young ones in Nigeria once he retires from football.

“I train and come here to study. I think my teammates don’t know yet but I know the first person that will know is Jamie Vardy.

Speaking on the club’s new manager, Brendan Rodgers, Ndidi praised him for his work with young players and the confidence he instils in his players.

“I am really excited about the performance of Leicester City this season because our coach, Brendan Rodgers has given the young players and the whole players the confidence to actually play.

He also explained how he felt after Leicester’s draw against Chelsea last Sunday. The 22-year-old was culpable for Chelsea’s opener but redeemed himself with a bullet header in the second half.

“For me, it was a mixed feeling because of what happened at the beginning of the game. If that didn’t happen I would have said that it was really a great goal.

He said once he has retired from football he wants to use his business to great to improve facilities for young footballers back home in Nigeria.
