Super Eagles Forward Stars In Monaco’s 2-2 Draw Against Nimes

Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru made a positive start to life in the French League as Monaco were held to a 2-2 draw at home against Nimes on Sunday.

The Nigerian international was a thorn in the flesh of the Nimes defenders as his pace and trickery dribbles were on the spotlight in that encounter.

However, Islam Slimani fired the opening goal of the game in the 39th minute before Wissam Ben Yedder extended Monaco’s lead in the 45th minute to end the first half.

The visitor was given a lifeline after Jemerson was issued a red card for the terrible tackle, of Nimes eventually capitalized on by scoring in 70th minute through Romain Philippoteaux before Kevin Denkey leveled parity in the 82nd minute.

The former Everton star was substituted in the 74th minute by Jonathan Panzo after making an impressive impact in the game.

Recall that Onyekuru was on the starting line up in Monaco’s away lose against Metz last weekend.

In the meantime, Onyekuru, who has been listed by Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr to face Ukraine in Dnipro in an international friendly on September 10, was part of the team that won a bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
