French Ligue 1: Super Eagles forward reacts to debut goal

After tasting Ligue 1 action for the first time over the weekend and scoring the winning goal in FC Nantes 2-1 away victory to Amiens, Moses Simon has sent an appreciation message to his God and his fans.

FC Nantes bagged their first victory of the new season thanks to a hard fought 2-1 victory over Amiens.

With the scores at 1-1, AFCON 2019 bronze medal winner Simon was sent in to replace Abdoul Kaer Bamba in the 73rd minute. Ten minutes later Simon was celebrating a debut goal.

The on-loan Levante forward was on hand to turn home a late winner for FC Nantes as the hosts secured the maximum points against 10-man Amiens, with the AFCON 2019 bronze medal winner full of gratitude thereafter.

“Thank God for everything. I’m so excited to put on the shirt of FC Nantes for the first time. Thanks to everyone for your support. We will keep working hard.”

Simon could have bagged a brace in the same encounter if his header late in the game hadn’t come off the crossbar.

After the weekend round of matches, Nantes are placed 11th on the league table with four points from three matches.
