Star striker Victor Osimhen reveals secret behind his debut goals for Lille

The in-form forward scored two beautiful goals in his Ligue One debut as Lille put Nantes to the sword on Sunday and he has shared what pushes him to stick the ball in the back of the net with such regularity.

Victor Osimhen, who will lead Lille’s challenge in the UEFA Champions League this season, banged in a goal in each half of the league opener to hand Lille a 2-1 win, the precious three points at stake and a fine start to the season.

The former U-17 FIFA World Cup winner displayed incredible close control, pace and composure to finish off the first goal.

The talented youngster then restored Lille’s lead after an own goal had drawn Nantes level, showing he could also be a fox in the box with his instinctive finish from a tight angle.

Talking to the media after the encounter, Osimhen disclosed that his desire to not let scoring chances pass him by gives him an edge in front of goal.

“When I have opportunities, I don’t want to miss them. I’m not yet 100 percent but I’m training hard and I know that with time I’ll be in top shape physically,” the Lille star said.

Lille and Victor Osimhen next travel to Amiens on Saturday for their first away game of the season.
