Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was on target for Villarreal as they played out an exciting 4-4 draw against Granada who had Ramon Azeez in their La Liga opener at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Saturday night.
The Yellow Submarines started brightly and took the lead from the spot through former Arsenal star, Santi Carzola. But their lead will be shortlived as Granada levelled scores just before the break as they were awarded a penalty of their own.
Moi Gomez put Villarreal ahead again after the restart, but Granada drew level once again through a Ruben Pena own goal.
Gerard Moreno put Javier Calleja’s side in the lead once again before Samuel Chukwueze added a fourth to extend the lead. Chukwueze’s goal appeared to have sealed victory for the Yellow Submarines until Roberto Soldado and Antonio Puertas scored in the space of five minutes to secure a dramatic draw for Diego Martinez side.
Chukwueze was not the only Nigerian on show in the match as Ramon Azeez was brought on in the 62nd minute for Cameroonian midfielder Yan Brice Eteki.
