After piping Newcastle United to begin their Premier League campaign on a winning note, Arsenal will be hoping to make it six points from two matches, most especially with the return of Mesut Özil to welcome Burnley on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
Gunners manager, Unai Emery, who started the first half without his new recruits against Newcastle, is most likely, to begin with, Nicolas Pepe from the right flank as he aims to seal another victory.
There no doubt that the London club are expected to face a difficult test against a Burnley side that crushed Southampton 3-0 last weekend.
Having to face the Gunners, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool in succession is not ideal, although that run of fixtures only highlights how important it was to record maximum points against the Clarets.
Head To Head
Saturday’s meeting will represent the 108th competitive encounter between the two clubs, with Arsenal registering 53 wins in comparison to 33 victories for Burnley.
However, while the Clarets will be satisfied with their historical record against the Gunners, it is a different story with regards to their most recent clashes having suffered 10 successive defeats.
Burnley have not got the better of Arsenal in a league fixture since 1974 when they prevailed by a 1-0 scoreline at Highbury.
Possible Line-ups
Arsenal: Leno; Maitland-Niles, Luiz, Sokratis, Monreal; Guendouzi, Xhaka; Mkhitaryan, Ceballos, Pepe; Aubameyang
Burnley: Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters; Gudmundsson, Cork, Westwood, McNeil; Barnes; Wood
Betting tips
On paper, Arsenal appear to have the firepowers to defeat Burnley, however, it is safe to predict an Arsenal victory under 4.5.
