Martial Nets 50th Goal In Man United Draw Against Wolves

Anthony Martial joined the list of Manchester United players that have scored 50 goals for the club in the team’s 1-1 draw against Wolves in Monday’s Premier League tie at the Molineux Stadium.

United wasted no time to announce their intent of winning the encounter as the team controlled most part of the possession and attacked Wolves from the blast of the referee’s whistle.

The visitors could have taken the lead in the 18th minute when Marcus Rashford set up Martial with a beautiful through pass but the French star failed to utilize the chance.

However, their continuous pressure finally paid off when Rashford for the umpteenth time fed Martial with a timely pass which was well converted by him in the 27th minute to send the United supporters into a frenzy.

Interestingly, the goal was Martial’s 50th in all competitions for the Red Devils since joining the team from Monaco in 2015.

United had the chance to extend their lead in the 45th minute but for poor finishing from Martial, who couldn’t control the ball properly.

At the resumption of the second half, Ruben Neves levelled parity in the 55th minute for Wolves with a beautiful finish.

Pogba could have extended Manchester United’s lead in the 68th minute but his penalty was saved by Wolves goalkeeper, Rui Patricio, who guessed correctly.

All efforts for both teams to win the encounter proved abortive as the game ended 1-1.
