Fernando Torres farewell turns to nightmare

It was not the farewell the former Liverpool star was hoping for as former Spanish teammate Andres Iniesta and Japanese clubside Vissel Kobe handed a 6-1 thrashing to Sagan Tosu in Torres’ last game as a professional.

Fernando Torres farewell match, his last as a football pro, has ended with his club Sagan Tosu going down in embarrassing fashion to Andres Iniesta and David Villa’s Vissel Kobe.

Ageless former Barcelona midfield magician Iniesta scored one and provided two other assists as Vissel Kobe ran away with a 6-1 victory at Sagan Tosu.

Fernando Torres won the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool and the FIFA World Cup with Spain in a career that saw him also play for Chelsea and skipper Atletico Madrid.
