The Super Eagles head coach continues to escape the axe while others around are losing their jobs.
Guinea have anounced the sacking of their head coach barely 24 hours after Cameroon’s Football Federation dismissed coach Clarence Seedorf and his assistant Patrick Kluivert.
This brings the total number of sacked coaches to six.
24 teams began the race for the Africa Cup of Nations title on July 7.
More national team managers are expected to join the growing list, although it appears Super Eagles’ coach Gernot Rohr may not suffer similar fate any time soon.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has reportedly backed the German tactician to fulfill the details of his contract which is believed to have a year still to run.
The Sacked
Egypt coach Javier Aguirre became the first casualty of the #AFCON2019 as he was sacked just hours after the hosts were bundled out of the tournament by South Africa in the round of 16 #SSFootball

The Mexican was among the first to get the boot when he could not guide the hosts past the second round stage. Egypt qualified top of their group, winning all their matches and conceding zero goals. But the Pharaohs succumbed to a South African sucker punch and Aguirre quickly became the scape-goat.

Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Amuneke became an instant hero in Tanzania when he led the Taifa Stars to their first AFCON appearance in over two decades.
But the sweet story quickly turned sour when the Tanzanians found the going tough in Egypt. Three games played, three loses suffered, ensured that Amuneke’s men were the first to book their tickets for the long flight back home.
Hardly had the home-coming plane touched the ground that the former AFCON winner was shown the exit door.
Ricardo Mannetti had already done a great job qualifying Namibia for the CAN but more miracles were expected of him by the nation renowned for fast runners and not top quality football.
Mannetti got his men to compete well, even almost stealing a point off Morocco, losing to a last-minute own goal.
However, in a group that had three former champions, Namibia never stood a realistic chance of picking up a point, much less making it through to the next stage.
Three losses in three matches did not cast the coach in glory and he was duly cast aside.

Madagascar’s very impressive, giant-killing exploits took the shine off the more modest but equally pleasing feats of Uganda at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Cranes made it past a group that had Egypt, Zimbabwe and Congo DR, losing only to the host. Uganda gave a good account of themselves against Senegal in the second round losing by the narrowest of margins. Sebastien should feel really unlucky to be without a job after such a decent outing.

The former Netherlands midfielder was given only one objective by the defending the title: retain the title. All was going to plan as the Indomitable Lions navigated the group stage without conceding a single goal or losing a game.
But Seedorf’s men came unstuck against the Super Eagles in the Round of 16. A thrilling 3 – 2 loss to neighbours Nigeria smashed the set objective and has cost the former AC Milan manager his job.

The Belgian is the latest man to be fired from his post despite guiding his team to the Round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations. The former Burkina Faso coach saw his team lose to former champions Nigeria and draw debutants Madagascar.
But a fine win over Burundi pushed the Syli Nationale to third in the group and to the next round as one of the best losers. However, a sour 3 – 0 loss to eventual finalist Algeria, proved to be the end of the road for the Guineans.
There may be little to be ashamed of, losing to a potential champion but it has been announced that the services of the coach will no longer be required.
