Former Nigeria number one, Vincent Enyeama could be set to make a return to active playing after it was reported he his having trials with French Ligue 1 side Dijon.
The 36-year-old has been without a club since he was released by Lille last summer. The former Eyinmba shot-stopper was told by former Les Douges boss, Marcelo Bielsa to find a new club.
He was close to joining Ligue 2 side AJ Auxerre, but a deal could not materialize. Since then he has been on the lookout for a new club.
However, his long wait could be over after reports emerged that he is currently having trials at Dijon. According to respected football journalist, Zach Lowy, Enyeama could replace Dijon’s former goalkeeper Bobby Allain who left the club to join Greek side Olympiacos.
Although he retired from the Super Eagles in 2015, he still holds the records of caps, having played 101 matches for the team. He made his debut for Nigeria in 2002 and was part of the team that went to the Korea/Japan world cup.
He represented Nigeria at the 2004,2006, 2010 and 2013 nations cup winning the trophy at his last appearance. He will be hoping to have a successful trial with Dijon after what has happened over the last two years.
