Chinese club move to settle Gareth Bale and Zinedine Zidane rift

Beijing Guoan have taken a huge step towards ending the imbroglio between Gareth Bale and the Spanish giants.

The Chinese club are willing to take the player off the books of the former Champions League champions to put an end to the storm brewing between manager Zinedine Zidane and the former Tottenham star.

The Wale international is having a face-off with Zidane after the French manager declared the player surplus to requirement.

Zidane left the 30-year-old out of Real’s 3-1 pre-season defeat by Bayern Munich in Houston, USA.

Speaking after the game, Zidane said: “We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.

“I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done.

“I have to make decisions. We have to change,” Zidane added. “The exit is the coach’s decision, and also of the player, who knows the situation.

“The situation will change, I do not know if in 24 or 48 hours, but it will – and it’s a good thing for everyone.”

The manager’s comments, however, infuriated Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, who deemed Zidane’s remarks to be disrespectful to a player who has contributed a lot to the club’s success in recent times.

Barnett said: “Zidane is a disgrace, he shows no respect for a player that has done so much for Real Madrid.”

Beijing Guoan have now emerged as a possible destination for the Wales star as the Chinese club are willing to make Bale the highest paid player in the world.

Gareth Bale has been offered a £1m-per-week wage by Beijing Guoan, according to the Mirror.

It is not yet known if the player who is being courted by PSG would be willing to leave Europe just yet.

Bale has won four Champions League titles at the Bernabeu since joining Real from Tottenham in 2013 for a then-world-record £86million.
