Nigeria beat the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in the third place match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation to win the bronze medal.
Former Watford forward Odion Ighalo grabbed the only goal of the game with barely three minutes on the clock, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box to smash home.
It is Nigeria’s 8th bronze medal, the highest haul of any team on the continent.
Nigerian fans and some Super Eagles players have taken to Twitter to celebrate the “Golden Bronze.”
Congratulations to the Super Eagles for winning the third place and bronze medal of the 2019 African Cup Of Nations in Egypt after 1-0 win over Tunisia courtesy of a goal from Odion Ighalo.

A bronze medal is a very good achievement for the Super Eagles. They have come back from missing 2 consecutive AFCONs brilliantly. We now have something to build on & become unstoppable in the future. Kudos to Rohr & the boys.#TotalAFCON2019#VisaUnstoppableStories pic.twitter.com/3tD462xM56
