NFF confirms Senegal, Zimbabwe friendly for Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles would play two international friendly matches against Zimbabwe and Senegal ahead of this summer’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, slated for Egypt.

The three-time Africa champions will host Zimbabwe at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on June 8 before facing the Teranga Lions of Senegal on June 16 in Egypt.

This was confirmed by NFF President, Amaju Pinnick on Thursday in Abuja.

Recall that the Super Eagles have been pitted alongside Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea in Group B of the Bi-annual tournament.

“We have sealed the matches with the Warriors of Zimbabwe and the Lions of Teranga and these are two matches we are really looking forward to,” NFF president Amaju Pinnick said in a statement to the media.

“There cannot possibly be a better way to get into the AFCON spirit than playing the number one ranked team [Senegal] in Africa just before the finals begin.”
