Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has revealed that he decided to drop Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles and Egypt in an international friendly tie, in a bid to allow him gain more playing time at his club.
Iheanacho, who has failed to pin a regular shirt with the Foxes this season, has managed to score just two goals in 30 appearances in all competitions.
Rohr told Cafonline: ”Kelechi needs to play with his club.
“He also needs to take advantage of the international break to show his qualities to his new coach.”
